「生活暫時沒有目的，只需要找回自己。」

《躲貓貓》為王意淳的首次大型個展。緣起於 2023 年於裏山舉行的《慢行》王意淳書法展，該展獲選《橫山書藝獎》首獎。

藝術家王意淳將與家貓相處的日常延伸為展覽核心，思考「躲藏」與「找到」之間的關係，而觀眾與作品的相遇則是互相找尋的過程。

 

生活映照著創作，平日裡，時而尋找躲在家中任意角落的貓咪，時而聽見叫聲卻不見蹤影，如同創作靈感一般，有時聞聲而不見人，有時倏忽即逝。

在創作中，王意淳也像躲藏的角色，將自己隱身於書法背後，藉由被觀者看見、產生共鳴，讓書寫為觀者建造一處暫時躲藏的心靈空間。

 

展覽分為四大展區，展出作品橫跨小品、榜書、雕塑等。同時也與各領域品牌合作，以書法作為主題延伸、發展出動畫、裝置等不同形式之創作。

在《躲貓貓》中，觀者被邀請進入一段緩慢的時區，拋開當代生活的速度，將身心放緩，讓生活暫時沒有目的，只需要專注地靠近作品，藉此也許能夠找回自己。

Hide and Seek: Yi Chun Wang Calligraphy Exhibition marks the artist’s first major solo exhibition. This exhibition traces back to Pace, a calligraphy exhibition held in 2023 at Urayama Space. Nominated through an open call, Pace was awarded the Grand Prize of the second Hengshan Calligraphy Award, marking the starting point for this presentation.

The exhibition explores the dynamic between “hiding” and “finding,” where  the encounter between the viewer  and her work unfolds as a process of mutual searching. In this sense, life reflects  the artist’s practice. Just as the artist searches for her cat hidden in a corner, or hears a faint call without catching sight of it, inspiration can be equally elusive—appearing and vanishing without warning. Within her practice, Wang also conceals herself behind the surface of calligraphy, revealing herself  only through resonance with the viewer.

The exhibition unfolds across four sections, ranging from intimate small-scale pieces to bold large-character calligraphy, alongside collaborations that extend the medium into different fields. Viewers are invited to slow down, set aside life’s demands, and perhaps find their way back to themselves through the act of looking.
